the date has come and gone, but the photographs are finally here!  our photographer, paul kitagaki jr., a photojournalist with the seattle post-intelligencer, spent the entire day with both pamela and myself documenting our wedding, as well as the various events leading up to and after the big event.

my best man, todd brown, and i have often had debates regarding the impact that visual media has had on our culture's storytelling abilities.   while i would agree that photography, television and internet have distracted us from honing our 'yarn-spinning' skills, i am also a firm believer in the adage "a picture is worth a thousand words".

the catch here, though, is that those thousand words are largely left up to the observer.

herein is your chance to create your own 34,000 word story.  this is the first installment of paul's photos which he and pamela and myself chose from 1600-some images.  i'll be adding more photos in the days to come....

"i woke up this morning at 7:00am.
now where did i leave that 'to-do' list?"
